About Me

My name is Deirdre Coyne and I am passionate about helping people to overcome Anxiety Disorders through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). As a qualified counsellor, registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and with many years’ experience in formal counselling, I offer traditional face-to- face and modern online treatment programmes. I specialise in the treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder and founded the Social Anxiety Northern Ireland website and online forums.

Social Anxiety is a surprisingly common disorder or phobia which causes people intense fear, panic and feelings of general anxiety in some or all of the social interactions most of us enjoy as part of our everyday lives. These can be meeting unfamiliar people, working with the public, or being required to take on more challenging activities that put us under scrutiny from others, such as public speaking.

The feelings become a disorder when they are excessive, irrational and impact negatively on a person’s quality of life. Without treatment it can develop into a longstanding condition. However, intensive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has been shown to produce long-lasting improvements.

I am pioneering the CCBT online programme in Northern Ireland, offering the CBT systems via your computer, tablet or phone 24/7 for your ease, comfort and confidentiality, with the addition of my virtual or physical support sessions.

The programme is the only product endorsed by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
